Announcements for the weekend of July 30, 2023

A very important and a general reminder that during Holy Communion- Catholics who are prepared and properly disposed to receive Communion may receive either in the hand or on the tongue.  If Communion is received in the hand, the hands should first of all be clean.  It is not appropriate to reach out with the fingers and take the host from the person distributing.  It should be noted that it is never permissible for a person to dip the host he or she has received into the chalice.  If, for some reason, the communicant is not able or willing to drink from the cup then that person should receive only under the form of bread.  Please check the bulletin insert this weekend for detailed guidelines for the reception of Communion.

We are thrilled to present an exciting opportunity for our dedicated parishioners to actively participate in the development of our new campus.  With our Commemorative Brick Program, you can leave an indelible mark while directly contributing to offset our loan and future building phases.  Please check the flyer in the foyer for more information.

Sumter Knights of Columbus invites all to view the St. Joseph Icon on display until Aug. 2nd.  Honor St. Joseph and pray for his intercession in preserving, cultivation and passing on the Catholic faith to future generations.  A special pilgrim icon program will be held on July 30th after the 5 pm Mass.
